This can be pretty shocking but … Mexico City is more expensive for Renters than in some mega city like Los Angelis and even New York City. Investopedia mentioned the data from Numbeo which stating that one bedroom apartment in the city center is about 563 US dollars. That’s just for one bedroom Not only that but housing price also double here in Mexico City as well. our friend , Laura who has been living in Mexico City for years write on her travel blog and says ‘Rent can be slightly more expensive than you might originally thought ‘ and you can expect to pay up to 530 Dollars a month, which doesn’t include any bills. Now… Some bloggers say it can cost only 375 dollars a month. And…. this is what we have found So basically this is the apartment we choose to live in which is more like gated community, and it’s honestly the most expensive apartment we stay since we travel together. It cost us 12,000 Mexican Peso which is about 585 US dollar a month Because we rent from Airbnb, this rental fee include all monthly bills. The area we stay close to everything we need from food, accommodation, bakery, and restaurant. We hope you enjoy our apartment tour and hope this is helpful for your upcoming trip.

Got a very good deal, I was paying like 250 USD plus expenses (pre devaluation) for a bedroom, 14 years ago. Beautiful apartment though and in a very nice area but not Condesa, Roma, but still, it was 750 USD per month but we were 3, and they were increasing the rent every year. I do not know how much they want for it today.

First travellers I hear say Mexico is expensive and besides that 500 or 320 ; it’s sarcasm I supposed . So cheap and cool ….585 all included , it’s a joke to say it’s expensive….
Food in Mexico also is cheap ! So I don’t see objective thinks in this channel .

Divert Living. $500 US DLS would be such a bargain in NYC, Los Angeles or Seattle. I live in Oakland across the San Francisco City and I pay $1,200 a month for ONE bedroom, and I share a bathroom. The place includes all bills including internet and there is cleaning service once-a-week. The place is very nice and have lived for almost 2 years here because I can't find anything cheaper. Your $500 reference as expensive compared to mayor cities in Europe and the USA is SO, SO misleading!

Can't beat the price. A SMALL ROOM in an Airbnb in New York City will cost you between 60 & 80 per night, and definitely not in a neighborhood like 'Narvarte', probably in the deep Harlem, Bronx, Brooklyn or Queens. If wanted a safe and nice place like where you are in Mexico City, expect no less than 150 p night and up, way up. 500 for a FULL MONTH sounds like a GREAT DEAL to me (16 p night), even if the place looks that awful. Use the money saved instead to treat yourselves in the many wonderful restaurants, cafes, bars, and clubs and not in better accommodations. The 'Narvarte' is very safe, well communicated and close to everywhere in the city. Have fun. Cheers

I’m a bit confused at why you said that Mexico City you could be as expensive as New York City or Los Angeles. $550 will not get you anywhere near one bedroom and either those cities. Try like $1750 to like $3000

$500-$560 a month is no where NEAR what rent for a decent one-bedroom apartment goes for in LA, NYC, or other U.S. major cities! You'll easily be paying well over $1,000 a month even in a NYC rent-controlled unit (if you can find one!) I've no idea where you're coming up with this terribly flawed data, unless it was last updated in the early 80's!

I'm just confused as to what part is expensive or what all is included, in Marco or Naples, Fl you're looking at $1,000/mo AT LEAST and all you're getting is a 750-900 sqft 1 BD 1 BA getting below $900/mo here, good luck! $500 to almost $600/mo apartment, fully furnished that's a Gem!! And sounds great & cheap

I think that price for a major, huge, metro area – is pretty inexpensive. I live in a fairly small town in MN – it is a college town and about an hour from Minneapolis. I rented a one bedroom in this town – 25 years ago (!) – for $750 (that was about the going rate). I don't know what they go for now (I live in a house now) – but I'm sure it's over $1,000 / mo – and that was NOT a fancy apartment! It was a one bedroom and had an extremely dated kitchen, bathroom – well, everything was dated!

man what an unfair price with the first apartment, i know places a bit retired from the "hipster" zones where rent can go all the way from $170.0 USD to $300 USD but you get either a big apartment or a small house for yourselves, E.g where i live (an apartment) the rent is around the &180 USD the zone is quite calm, lots of schools, markets, small bussinesses, public transport is like living in the suburbs but with everything at your reach

Nice video but might have been a little better to explain that prices vary greatly depending on the neighborhood (just like everywhere location and finishes dictate price)everyone keeps commenting that this isn't expensive which it isn't even to Mexico City standards also people seem to miss the point you guys are sharing if you guys had that to yourself it would be close to double or if it was in a more desirable area prices would be over 1200 … heck if it was a 1 bedroom in polanco or Santa Fe try USD $2,000

Mexico city might be more expensive for renters because they make 900 a month vs in downtown ca or la making 10k a month. 🤷‍♂️. But its funny to hear someone go. “Wow 500 dollars a month, that must be soo much more than in LA”. But this is why you do your own research. Articles are never first hand sources they are almost always second or mostly tertiary. Never believe an article always go to the source and use your own intuition.

First people need to stop over spending on bullshit cities let alone a third world country. New York Los Angeles are perfect examples of this. Dirty bug infested rat infested along with bad air is beyond what I consider a great living life. Get the fk out and get a place in a better place and stop raising shit property value by giving them your money. Living in a fkn box isn’t healthy.

Maybe to us as Mexicans paying rent is the most expensive thing. You can pay house internet for only $20 per month, electricity like $13 every two months, gas like $15 per month, you can take the subway, bus for only ¢5. And you're trying to live in a fancy area, (even if the houses are ugly as hell) that's why you're surprised to pay $500 per month. In a middle class area, you can pay like $300. With $3 per day you can eat a whole food. So idk what are you guys complaining about. 😂

Love your videos of CDMX! However, I’m slightly confused. $500 is significantly cheaper than LA and NYC. I live in Dallas and rent is at least $1300 for a one bedroom. I’m actually moving to Mexico City and when speaking to people over there, I have been told rent is significantly cheaper in Mexico City than the majority of the US.

I think to rent an apartment like this in CDMX could be call "more expensive" than L.A. if you consider the minimum wage rates on each country.
In Mexico you earn 102 pesos per hour (5.33 dollars approx.), otherwise in USA the minimum wage rates I saw in the next link were 7 dollars.
    That's my opinion

If you earn your dollar salary, it could be considered cheap. But in México, the salary that a professional receives (700 or less per month) hardly adapts to these expenses.

They’re talking about it in relation to the minimum wage, so, if 60% of Mexico City residents’ income is going towards rent, that is fucking expensive. They’re talking about it in relation to the local income.
