this closet has always been a problem
with me I haven’t really been cleaning out decluttering getting rid of things
but this closet is horrible and I’m going to turn this closet into my
kitchen pantry and I’m gonna show you in a little bit why so this closet
everything is coming out of here I’m gonna sort through it put it out in my
canning garage and put it in places where I know where it’s at and then I’m
gonna put all of my spices and my bulk baking items in here because what’s
happening is all of my bulk baking items are here I can’t find them
it’s just too much it’s hard to see and this is gonna be where my microwave and
other things are I’m redoing my whole kitchen I’m decluttering whoa it’s gonna
take me all day I thought my kitchen is cluttered it’s an organized cluttered I
want to clear out so I have room for this spring when I do a lot of
harvesting of my vegetables of my herbs I need to have a kitchen that is
streamlined and it’s cleaned up without so much
clutter and that means that closet is going to be my key to having things more
organized so the first thing we have to do is clean out that closet so that
closet is ready – so the first thing we have to do is clean out that closet so
here is the before I learned a trick a long time ago is
using your wheelbarrow if you want to transport a lot of things at one time so
all the things in this wheelbarrow are going into my canning garage so what I’m
doing is instead of putting everything in here and just throwing it in there
I’m taking the extra time and I’m putting everything away out there so it
takes twice as long to do it but at the end of the day everything is
done correctly so I’m taking wheelbarrow loads after wheelbarrow loads out
they’re putting it where it needs to go all of my seasonal my prepping items my
home is built around prepping and so everything in my home has to do with
some sort of prepping or long-term survival so that stuff is going out into
kiding garage and now this stuff has to go into the wheelbarrow
once that’s empty so we’re just going to keep taking everything out of closet and
once everything is out of the closet we’re going to clean it and then we’re
gonna start organizing and I think it’s really gonna make a difference well
everyone I did it I have no heat on in the house it’s 50 degrees I have hot
flashes and I’m working like crazy but everything is removed oh my word was
that ever work so everything here is removed I’m happy to announce now what I
gotta do is I gotta clean off the shelves vacuum everything up and then
we’re gonna put one thing in at a time so I’m gonna start with the smaller the
jar and then down to the largest this is going to be my pantry for my cooking and
all of the dry goods that I have and I’m hoping I can get more in here that I
think I can I have this area right here I wish I had some shelves or something I
don’t so I’m not sure what I’m gonna do here because every bit of space for me
is so important I have to use up every space because I’m trying to take
everything out of my kitchen and put it nicely in here so I can just
close the door and walk away and have everything organized and then my kitchen
is free of clutter I don’t mind clutter because my clutter
is all useful items but in the summer I need my kitchen I need my kitchen
counters cleaned off I have a really small kitchen
somebody said on my tour Vidia they loved it but they’d like to see the rest
of my house and I was like um that is the rest of my house this is my house
the kitchen the little family area my bedroom and a pantry that’s it that’s it
people so I didn’t know what they were looking to find but this is my house
it’s not tiny living but let me tell you what it’s small living that’s for sure I
only have the closets in the bedroom and this closet it’s the only closets I have
in this house so let me keep on working you great the shelves all the dried food on the shelves and
see how many we can fit on here that is everything and look at all the
room I have now I can go into the canning pantry and put some things here
look how much room my god this is amazing this is exactly what I was
hoping I was hoping I could put more things in here have it organized and
then not have it out on top of my counters so much this is perfect I am
extremely happy and I’ll show you when we’re done so the only one is the
finished product so there you go everyone it’s the finished project up
top is we’ll have some herbs and my centrioles and I have my dry goods dried
goods way down the bottom I have all of my baking supplies so there you go I
turned this closet into a pantry and now I can clean up my kitchen and it won’t
be so cluttered so let’s see what the kitchen looks like you it’s time for Viennese diary we are on
February the 19th 1944 fanny writes today I wanted to go to town but when
Marion woke up she had the mumps usually my videos are only about two to three

beautiful videos that I get to share with you my life and my dreams for the

Hi Tessie, sorry you've been ill. I know it must have been extra difficult for someone who is always busy, busy. I thank God I haven't been sick with anything in years. It's hard for me to be still. You did a great job of reorganizing! I know you love it.
    Blessings, dear Tessie. πŸ’œ

Oh Tessie everything looks so pretty, If your husband could build you some strong shelves…that are removable , it would make a big difference. , just a thought. I have a 16×80 mobile home. Had a 14×70 for years, before this one. I think every inch is precious. Mom use to say, make every item serve a dual purpose ! So, nearly all my furniture has storage. I even have her folding table that has 4 chairs inside it for extra company. I hunted consignment shops and thrift stores till I found what I love, and I furnished it with regular house furniture. I love my home and while some may frown on my "trailer" I am glad I owe no one anything on it and can sleep at night not worrying about someone taking it because I can't pay for it. I have heard of people paying over a thousand dollars a month for their big brick homes that you can spit out the window and hit the next door neighbor, well, that's not for me. I know things can happen and I could lose it to fire or an act of God but, I don't worry. I know He will guide me as He always has ! Whoops, I got carried away. Guess, I needed someone to talk to ! God bless all and sleep well.

Tessie, you did a great job! I have a small place and am always battling clutter. It's fun when you can come up with an idea to declutter a bit and reuse a space as you did. Your closet will be great for a kitchen cupboard. And it looks nice. Lot of hard work to move everything around, but you got it done. Think you will like it this way.

Get better Tessie! The WHO announced that in the next 2-4 weeks there will be people showing signs of COVID19 throughout the US. A whistle-blower who works in the CDC said that there's already over a thousand confirmed cases here in the US over a week ago. They have a gag order to not let the public know to keep them from panicking. There are people who are spreading it and catching it right now and they are clueless. Be careful and buy reusable N95 masks if you don't have them yet and wear it every time you go out. We're doing the same for our family and I'm already seeing people around town who are also starting to protect themselves. Stock up if you need to in case of a quarantine and prep quietly. Don't let the other people see you and start freaking out and then the shelves will go bare. In Hong Kong they only had a few dozen cases before a full-blown frenzy happened. Now a lot of their shelves are bare and they have limits on what you can buy. I'm trying to make sure we have 3 months of everything we can possibly need at least so if we have to quarantine to stay safe we will be fine.

Good morning pretty girl!! I am so glad to hear you are feeling better and on the mend!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video and all your videos highlighting your organizational skills!! Your place is always so clean and inviting and homey!! A cross between The Waltons and Little House On The Prairie!!! And that young lady is meant as a huge compliment!! We picked up a load of cattle yesterday in Tennessee going to Colorado and had to unload the cattle in Kansas last night and cant leave until around noon today because 1-70 is closed because of yet again ANOTHER snow storm!! This is why you haven't had much snow in Pa. and also myself in southern Mo. this year. It's all in KANSAS lol!! As the world us waking up it is my bedtime!! Oh my goodness it has been a stressful night driving through the snow!! But when I wake up we'll have another good visit!! Woo Hoo!! You get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluid and have a blessed day!!🌞🌞🌞

Good job on the pantry ! Isn't it amazing how much room all those jars of dehydrated foods, herbs & baking items, etc. can take up ? I am constantly re-doing how & where I store mine. Tessie, I am so glad you had those 5 videos recorded ahead of time. I think that would be a good practice – to have some ahead. You never know what might happen, that you will need them ~ sort of like saving for a rainy day. I hope you are all recovered now. I have been going thru a rough time the past 2 weeks. I broke out with a horrible rash or hives from the top of both hands & arms – up to my elbows . I have no idea what caused it, what I could have been exposed to that would cause it. The itching & swelling is horrible. I have been taking an antihistimine, which has helped some, but makes me so sleepy . It is really nerve wracking !!! But like everything else ~ this too shall pass !

Hi Tessie, sis! So sorry that you weren't feeling well! 🀧 Glad to hear that you are doing better now. 😍
Excellent idea. I am so very proud of you For coming up with simple solutions to make life easier and more streamlined!

I am about to do a similar thing here in my kitchen. It has been too cluttered and rearranged but I am not feeling like things are Are being stored optimally. I also feel that there are still things in here that I really don't need. De-cluttering and organizing Is a continuous effort.

Using the wheelbarrow is a smart idea. I started using my mom's Rollator walker When I broke my kneecap. Still using it during recovery when I go outside. Came up with the idea of using it to transport things around the house. I now use it to carry laundry back and forth, bring my mom's meals to her and all sorts of other things. The old saying that necessity is the mother of invention certainly applies to me. People should start using that way of thinking in their daily lives to go back to the ways when things were simpler.

I have no doubt that you will come up with a solution for adding more shelving into that new pantry area. I am using under-counter hanging baskets in my kitchen and love them. I tried to get a link for some on Amazon, but it won't let me share. LOL. You may want to check them out as they are a way to add extra storage without having to build shelves. You can also slide them back and forth in case you need to reach something easier on the regular shelves.

Great video as always! Love you. πŸ’œ

Watch for some plywood pieces or something that you can lay in the shelves and extend them the width of the closet. I had Jim help me make some like that for an odd sized closet I have. I worked great. Just a suggestion. Hope you are feeling better.

Good Afternoon Tessie, Wow! So happy for you on your rearranging! AND there was even room to put some of your recipe books! I bet that feels so fulfilling to get that project done that you'd had in your heart to do for so long. I wanted to say that I just love how you've used some of your doilies under your screw down part of the larger jar lids…I'm going to copy you on that too! And thank you for stirring us up to jump in there and "do it" something that we've been wanting to do..Do It!..ha ha!…Love to you..P.S. glad your feeling Much better now…: )

Get well soon! Take an extra dose of elderberry syrup!! I finally made your elderberry recipe yesterday and am making the rest of the family use it also! We had a closet in the laundry room which no one used for coats, so I had my husband put shelves in there. That is were I made a second pantry to hold all the heavy canned items and dog and cat food, oils, sugar, flour, etc. I have a kitchen pantry with pull out shelves which I like, but the canned items were way to heavy for it, so it stores the lighter things like pasta, baking items, jello & pudding and my dehydrated herbs and spices. Then we had a coat closet in the living room that was wasted space, so I put a wood shelf unit in there. That is where I keep my canners, dehydrator, vacuum sealer, garden seeds, extra large bowls, juicer/steamer, plastic bags, etc. It saves me having to run down to the basement all the time. Please, don't give me diamonds and furs — give me closets I can convert into pantries!! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!! Take care!

Sorry you have been ill, Tessie. People need to be aware that the corona virus is in virtually every state now, and even right here in my small town, the last place in the US anyone would expect it to be found. I only learned this accidentally – there has been no warning to the public. Everyone who is ill, please consider this. You do not want it a second time.

Hey, Tess…..if you don't have a shelf for that little area beside the bigger shelf, why not put some buckets in there.Β  It's 'wasted' space right now, but if you stack some buckets there, you can use your pantry – where the buckets were – to store some other things.Β Β  Just a thought.Β  Great job!Β  Glad you're feeling better.

I love your home! It's warm and cozy. I'm getting rid of a bunch and still working on it. It's like extra weight. It took years to collect and will take time to get rid of.

I think your pantry looks great…how did u get a little light in there? Looks nice and homey. And just a question about the red gingham check towel over your sink. Where? I like the embroidery work!

You're putting me to shame, girl. That looks great and what a nice feeling it must be to know everything is in its place. The pantry is the one place in my house that stays organized (thankfully). The rest of the house is a mess. LOL Great job, Tessie. πŸ™‚

Is sizing the same thing that they use to call grading? My Grandfather Paw had a table that was long and narrow with like dividers down it…kind of like a hen laying box with no back!! We would grade the tobacco for taking to Market to sell. Always during cold weather. Tobacco was hard work. But I have many fond memories working with Paw and Mamaw in the fields.
