Dutch oven lid lifters for cast iron cooking how to use a Dutch oven lid lifter cast iron dutch oven tool kit hi it’s AlaskaGranny prepper if you’re going to have a Cast Iron
Dutch Oven camp stove you need to have a lid lifter these cast iron
Dutch ovens camp oven get very hot they get very heavy and you need to when
you’re using it if you’re using it say over a campfire or with charcoal you need to be
able to rotate it the cast iron dutch oven because you want to keep it on even heat cook evenly to
be able to rotate the pot in one direction and the lid the other direction and it’s very difficult to do if
you don’t have a lid lifter this is one that I have it is by Mair company MAIR company I kind of like it it very popular with lots of people because it has 3 prongs for easy lifting set it on the lid and squeeze the 2 handles together and you can rotate the lid you don’t want to lift the lid if you are just rotating it you want to be able to turn it so you
don’t let the heat out if there are your coals on top rotate the coals to make sure to make sure that your foods are cooking evenly if you want to lift the lid off your cast iron dutch oven of it completely you can do that safely with a lid lifter what I don’t like if you want to lift the pot just by the bail this to me doesn’t work as easily as some of other lid lifters and so lifting the cast iron pot can be complicated it is good because ash is not going to be going into your Dutch Oven when you’re using the Mair lid lifter but this is awkward it is a very good lid lifter it works
really well another cast iron dutch oven lid lifter I found I have had it for a long time
I don’t know what brand it is I like this Cast Iron Dutch Oven lid lifter a lot because you can easily lift the lid it has a bar rather than 3 prongs and you can lift the lid like this if you want to take the lid off or you can turn the lid and the thing that I like most about this lid lifter is that if you want to use it with the bail or handle hook the bail handle what is a bail and then you can lift it this way this way and hold it securely because it has this bar here and this bar here it hooks over the edge of the cast iron dutch oven this is more secure if I am moving the entire pot off of a fire if I move the lid off that is less awkward than squeezing something something and I can still use this here to lift it without spilling find something to use with your Dutch oven to remove the lid and move your pot way before you go out into the forest or the woods or
camping survival prepping emergency cooking even to your barbecue find something that will help
you utilize this big heavy but very handy Cast Iron Dutch Oven camp oven please subscribe AlaskaGranny channel alaskagranny.com

Always used a set of welders gloves/mits. Lighter than metal lifters and impervious to heat (sort of) 😉

You have had that Mair lifter for a long time, how do I know? We made one change to the lifter shortly after they went on the market and added a hook to the front leg to make it much easier to lift the pot with the bail, also the 14" lifter is designed to be used from a lower table, our 9" lifter would have made it much easier to use from that table height, you can see them at www.mairdutchovenlifter.com Thanks for showing our lifter!!

I think your second lid lifter is the Volcano lid lifter

We love the Mair Life lifters and have a few different types. When in a pinch, the end of a claw hammer works also.
